Flash Flood

 

Several inches of rain fell in Torrey in under an hour creating flash floods. We got off easy. The canal was breached where it crosses Sand Creek in a 3 foot diameter pipe. It was wiped out. THAT will be expensive.

We took a trip to southern Utah to see some architecture to inspire us.

Sailplane over the Wasatch

I had the opportunity to accept a ride over the wasatch in a sailplane. WOW what a view. Imediately below is the Big Cottonwood/Park City ridgeline. On the the horizon is Snowbird, the Pfiferhorn, Lone Peak.

June Powder

A cold storm put almost 2 feet of dense powder down at Alta. We were one run wonders at 6am.

This past weekend felt like the first real summer weekend. It didn't snow on us, and we went for a long hike in the desert.

The ski season in the Wasatch was a real disapointment. Evening things out was a trip of a lifetime to ski in the Indian Himalayas.

I saw some lenticular clouds on returning from India. The next day, I skied Alta and had to remember to keep my mouth closed, which is hard when you are smiling!
