A flash flood downpour

 

This is a view to the flash flood from the slopes of Boulder Mountain. Thousand Lake mountain is completely obscured by the rain that blew out Sand Creek.

Several inches of rain fell in Torrey in under an hour creating flash floods. We got off easy. The canal was breached where it crosses Sand Creek in a 3 foot diameter pipe. It was wiped out. THAT will be expensive.

We took a trip to southern Utah to see some architecture to inspire us.

Sailplane over the Wasatch

I had the opportunity to accept a ride over the wasatch in a sailplane. WOW what a view. Imediately below is the Big Cottonwood/Park City ridgeline. On the the horizon is Snowbird, the Pfiferhorn, Lone Peak.

Sunset on the Reef

After a long hike, the sun sets over Capitol Reef.
